Campaign for Enhanced Care of Brain Tumor and Injury Victims Intensifies

The Brain and Spine Foundation Africa is championing a robust campaign in Abuja for enhanced financial and supportive care for individuals suffering from brain tumors and related injuries. The Foundation asserts the critical need to improve the outcomes for survivors who have undergone brain surgery, highlighting the consequences of inadequate post-operative care.

Engr. Chika Okwuolisa, the Founder and CEO of Brain and Spine Foundation Africa, in a press interaction, emphasized the urgency to remedy this healthcare gap. Okwuolisa stated that effective support could significantly increase the quality of life for victims and their ability to contribute positively to Nigerian society.

The organization recognizes March as Brain Awareness Week, a global initiative aimed at increasing awareness around brain and spinal cord issues. During this period, the Foundation organizes various community events to educate the public on these health challenges.

Okwuolisa pointed out the potential for successful rehabilitation and life enhancement if more resources were made available to foundations focused on neurological support. Better financing and logistics could extend their reach to those in desperate need of assistance, she added.

During a recent event, individuals affected by brain tumors shared their daunting experiences and the ways in which support from the Foundation had significantly altered their circumstances for the better.
