AMSTERDAM, March 26, 2024 – Global medical technology leader Stryker has announced the European market release of its Gamma4 Hip Fracture Nailing System. The Gamma4, which holds CE certification since September 2023, offers a new generation solution for hip and femur fracture treatment, designed to enhance procedural efficiency for surgeons.
According to Markus Ochs, Vice President and General Manager at Stryker, the deployment of Gamma4 across Europe continues the lineage of the company’s commitment to innovation in response to surgeon needs. The system is anticipated to enable improved outcomes for patients requiring orthopedic intervention. Furthermore, the Gamma4 has already seen adoption in over 25,000 cases across North America and Japan, its indication spanning a range of femoral fractures, including those compromised by osteoporosis or osteopenia.
The Gamma4 system sets a new standard in intramedullary nailing, achieved through an evolutionary procedure in design and usability, drawing insight from surgeon expertise to prioritize patient welfare. Dr. Gilbert Taglang, head of the OTCF Education Committee, praised the system’s heightened functionality, attributing the enhanced experience to surgeon input and Stryker’s attention to refinement in operative technology.
