Doctor Spotlight: Dr. Slaughter

For more than 21 years, Dr. Slaughter has been living his dream of using medical science to help people and relieve their pain. He uses his medical expertise to develop minimally invasive orthopedic surgery techniques with a focus on reconstructive spinal injury repair.

Dr. Slaughter put himself through college, earning an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering and biochemistry while serving in the United States Army Reserves. Although he may apply his knowledge of mechanical engineering to his work, his real medical training began at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

After successfully completing medical school, Dr. Slaughter participated in a residency program in orthopedic surgery and followed that up with advanced practice under Dr. Michael Neuwirth at Beth Israel Spine Institute in New York City.

Dr. Slaughter’s interest in minimally invasive surgery eventually led to his pioneering orthopedic surgery techniques. He is dedicated to treating his patients with the least invasive treatments possible to reduce their pain and improve the mobility that builds a better quality of life.
